03How to perform
- Stand steadily with the weights in front of your thighs, palms toward your thighs. Wrap your thumbs around the handles and keep elbows soft and wrists straight.
- Brace your trunk. Exhale and lift both arms forward without changing the elbow angle, stopping around shoulder height.
- Inhale and lower smoothly, keeping your body still.
04Technique cues
- Keep wrists in line with forearms and elbows nearly unchanged.
- Use a comfortable hand position; never force the thumbs downward.
05Cautions
- Avoid swinging with the legs, lifting too high or arching your back. Begin with light weights.
- Stop for joint pain, numbness or dizziness. Seek qualified guidance for persistent symptoms or an existing shoulder or neck injury.
