03How to perform
- Attach a straight bar to the high pulley. Face the machine with feet about hip-width, knees soft and a closed overhand grip.
- Brace gently. Hold your upper arms by your sides with elbows bent, keeping the cable clear of your face and body.
- Exhale and extend your elbows, pressing the bar toward your thighs. Keep wrists aligned and elbows steady.
- Inhale and return slowly, keeping your upper arms still and controlling the stack.
04Technique cues
- Keep your feet, pelvis and upper arms steady in both directions.
- Use a comfortable range without shoulder drive, torso rocking or knee bounce.
05Cautions
- Check the cable, clip, bar and pins. Change attachments or settings only with the stack resting.
- Avoid snapping into extension or slamming the stack. Stop for joint pain or dizziness.
